B & Q Van Insurance

B & Q van insurance is for people with between one and four light vans with a gross weight of not more than 3.5 tonnes. The choice offered is for comprehensive or Third party fire and theft cover.

The basic cover includes, up to £500 for tools or personal belongings, up to 70% no claims bonus, new for old if less than six months old, accident recovery with the RAC and personal injury and medical expenses.

B & Q

It was in the 1960’s that Block and Quayle decided to bring value, longer opening hours and a larger product range to all. They opened the first B & Q store in Southampton under the name Block and Quayle but soon changed it to B & Q.

During the l970’s B & Q continued to expand and by 1979 there were 26 stores. It was in 1976 that Richard Block left the company.

In the l980’s the company was still rapidly growing and bought the Scottish Home Improvement chain Dodge City and then become part of the Kingfisher Group. David Quayle left the company in 1982 and by 1989 there were 280 stores.

B & Q opened the larger B & Q Warehouses in the 1990’s and also opened the first store outside the British Isles. In l998 they merged with Castorama, France’s Home Improvement retailer.

The new century was to see the fiftieth Warehouse open in York and the 300th store in Yeading opened. 2001 bought the launch of the website providing 24 hour, 7 days a week shopping to all. In 2002 B & Q opened its first Irish store at Liffey Vale.

In 2004 they were to open their largest UK store, three times the size of the Old Trafford Pitch and the biggest in Europe. This was the year that B & Q announced they were in partnership with the British Olympic Association.
